The Pledge
A conscious choice not to fund or authorize the old paradigms of extraction and domination, to the extent that's possible while still functioning in the world as it currently is.
The Pledge is a conscious choice: withdraw support from the old paradigms of extraction and domination, as far as that's actually possible while still functioning in a world built on both.
That qualifier is doing real work. Nobody here is claiming purity — this is a working commitment, applied imperfectly today and improved on deliberately, wherever a real alternative actually exists to switch to.
Nothing here needs to be destroyed to make room for something better — the old systems are already destroying themselves, wearing down the people depressed and anxious inside them. The Earth Warrior ideal is to build systems people feel so genuinely fed by that they want to contribute their gifts naturally, the way being fed a good meal makes you want to help clean up.
